Exercises to Prevent Kidney Stones:

While exercises themselves won’t directly prevent kidney stones, maintaining an active lifestyle can improve kidney health by improving circulation, hydration, and overall body function.

Walking or Jogging:

  • Regular walking (30 minutes a day) can improve hydration and blood circulation, reducing the risk of stone formation. You can start with brisk walks and gradually increase the intensity.
  • Yoga:
Certain yoga poses can support kidney health and enhance blood flow to the kidneys:
  • Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle Pose)
  • Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Dog Pose)
  • Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose)

Stretching:

  • Stretching exercises can help promote better kidney function and overall body mobility. Focus on gentle stretching, especially after long periods of sitting.

Swimming:

  • Swimming is a low-impact exercise that improves circulation and can help promote overall kidney health.

    Core Strengthening:
  • Exercises that strengthen the core, like planks and leg raises, help support overall body health and circulation, indirectly benefiting kidney function.
